Timeless Dialogue. Volodymyr Stetsula and Volodymyr Lutsyk. 1-27.04.2025

Artist Volodymyr Stetsula (born 1958) had been collaborating with our gallery since its very beginning. In 2008, he held a joint exhibition with Dutch artist Jan Van Gogh and participated in the group project Praise to Eros. In 2016, he took part in the exhibition Cocktail for Three. In 2021, he planned an exhibition with his colleague, Ukrainian artist Volodymyr Lucyk from Rome.

Vlodko’s (Stetsula’s) painting style was gentle and poetic, yet also erotic and abstract-expressive. Sadly, Volodymyr Stetsula passed away suddenly in 2022. This exhibition will serve as a retrospective of his works, with the earliest piece dating back to 1984.

Volodymyr Lucyk was born in Zolochiv in 1968 and now lives in Rome. A graduate of the Lviv Academy of Arts, he works in a very restrained, minimalist, iconographic style, with colors reminiscent of aged wall frescoes. For this exhibition, Lucyk has prepared a series of abstract Landscapes and non-portrait depictions of human figures in his Supper series and other works (2019–2025), which have not been shown in Ukraine before.

The two Volodymyrs were close friends.
