GAP. Olena Zherebetska exhibition. 23/07 – 18/08. 2024
Grandmother Kylina’s old chest from the village of Kytaihorod in Vinnytsia, full of memorable and valuable items, served as the inspiration for Lviv resident Olena Zherebetska.
Memories of her grandmother’s friends who survived the Holodomor and the extremely tragic events related to the Soviet occupation and war.
Their necklaces and embroidered shirts, authentic Ukrainian household items, became symbols that Olena delicately depicted.
Today, we find support in our ancestors. Their fates, the experiences of dark times, and the constant light of hope and love give us the faith that we, too, will survive this war and other hardships by seeking and finding a ray of light.
For the “Gap” exhibition, Olena Zherebetska created about 20 paintings. The opening of the exhibition will take place at the Green Sofa gallery on July 23 at 6:00 PM.
