Sophia Suliy. EX-VOTO project. 29.08 – 24.09.2023

Sophia Suliy. EX-VOTO project. 29.08 – 24.09.2023

On August 29, on the Day of Remembrance of Ukraine’s Defenders, Sofia Suliy will open her interactive charitable project at the Green Sofa Gallery.

EX VOTO, or votive objects. These are various valuable items that believers offer as gifts or sacrifices to God, Higher Powers, or Life. The intention behind such an offering can be a request for healing, protection, or gratitude for rescue or answered prayers. Typically, votive offerings are plaques with depictions of people, different body parts, or animals in need of such protection or healing.

Each visitor of the project will be invited to purchase a votive object created by Sofia and place it on the canvas of offerings where their heart guides them. The contributions collected during these 4 weeks will be directed to volunteer Hanna Vdovikovska, who takes care of the future by providing our warriors with support and addressing a variety of their urgent needs. We invite you to join this artistic act, creating a new exhibit and fostering goodness and charity through the mediation of Sofia’s art.
