Yevhen Hryhoriev. Stones in pockets. 4 – 30.07.2023

Yevhen Hryhoriev. Stones in pockets. 4 – 30.07.2023

Simple stone has a musical ear,

 a stone heart is indifferent,

it does not cry, does not salivate,

and loves no one,

with such a heart it is convenient to throw at people

or break glass in windows…

simple stone has a musical ear,

 a stone heart is indifferent.

Stones here are water-worn pebbles. They feel despair due to the impossibility of objective cognition and understanding of the world. They contemplate the futility of their existence, which essentially is an intrusive cyclicality, where the completeness of the moment turns into endless repetition, converging with “nothingness,” with non-being.

But paradoxically, this despair, this helplessness becomes a source of inner strength for the stone, giving it impetus to continue its existence.

At the solo exhibition, the artist will present 16 new mixed media works on paper created in 2023.

The exhibition opening will take place on July 4th at 5:00 PM. The exhibition will be open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 12:00  to 7:00 PM. Admission is free. Artworks are available for sale.
