Chaos and structures. Kateryna Haneychuk. 6.07. – 1.08.2021

For the second time in the gallery with a personal exhibition of contemporary textile art the artist from Lutsk – Kateryna Haneychuk.

She is known throughout the country for her woodblock printing on textiles (technique of creating an image on canvas).

A new series of canvases “Chaos and Structures” is made on old home-woven canvases with authentic ancient Woodblock printing technique. The artist believes that she has found her way to “express herself in ukrainian” in contemporary art.

A series of works consists of fragmentary compositions designed to capture the moments of development and destruction of structures. The “Chaos and Structures” series arose as a result of reflections on the universe and time and is a logical continuation of the previous series “Sacred Geometry” and “Information Flood”.

Kateryna Haneychuk  is an artist, curator, designer and teacher.

Born in 1974 in Belarus. In 1995 she graduated from Lviv College of Decorative and Applied Arts named after I. Trush, Department of Art Ceramics. In 2001 she graduated from the Lviv Academy of Arts, interior design and furniture.

She lives and works in Lutsk.

Kateryna organized and runs the “Art Cluster” studio.

2018 VIII – 2019 as the first director of the Museum of Contemporary Ukrainian Art Korsakov (MCUAK).

She is one of the contemporary artists who create conceptual art using authentic techniques of woodblock printing, carved patterns, levkas, textiles and painting on glass.

K. Haneychuk experiments with photography and sculpture, painting and graphics, installation and video. Since 2008 she has participated in regional and 7th All-Ukrainian exhibitions. She is an Author of 9 personal exhibitions.
