Roman Romanyshyn “Fairy tails for adults”. 22.10 – 17.11.2019. Exhibition of 24 etchings from “Alice in Wonderland” and “Throught the Looking-Glass” series

The brilliant work of Lewis Carroll about the girl Alice is an inexhaustible source for visual illusions of artists.
Full of unusual and rich detail, it became the perfect inspiration for another brilliant creator – Lviv graphic artist Roman Romanyshyn.
24 color (printed in several plates) etchings – illustrate 24 chapters of both parts of “Alices”, 12 in each.
They were created in 2014 – 2017 years and will be presented for the first time in full.
For the “Alice in Wonderland” color images are written in forms that are referenced in the content of each chapter. There are shapes like a hat, a teapot or an egg.
The 12 pieces for the second part “Throught the Looking-Glass” are inscribed in the same rectangles. And behind the fields of color images – white on white, for attentive viewers – embossing on paper without the use of paint. It is called blind embossing. Many small details and symbols. Graphics for true book lovers. Lots of character and impeccable style. Graphics for intellectuals.
