The basis of graphic compositions made in the technique of linecut created by Natalia Fedun lay typographic element that creates a large integral image. The purpose pursued by the artist was the desire to attract the attention of the viewer both to the big image and to the individual detail that it creates.

“Linocuts emphasize my love for the art of typography, fonts and music.

Music is a key inspiration for me. Listening to one or another melody that creates a special mood, I will transform this feeling into graphic compositions.

The texts appearing in my works play a compositional and background role. These are random (spontaneous) fragments of the songs that helped to create my graphics. They give melodies and rhythmic patterns to the compositions. “

Part of the submitted works is a clear geometry filling the huge plane (about 5 m wide) in color and shapes. In these abstract compositions Natalia aspire to reflect the laconic beauty of asymmetry, balance, nuance, rhythm and contrast.

There will be other graphic works at the exhibition which combine abstraction with a realistic image.

Natalia Fedun

Born on the 24th of September 1986 in Lviv, Ukraine. From 1993 studied at Oleksa Novakivskyi’s art school. From 2003 until 2009 studied graphic design and art at Lviv National academy of Art. In 2011 participated in the “Gaude Polonia” scholarship program of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. This project was realised in the Eugeniusz Geppert academy of art and design in Wroclaw.

Currently working as a graphic designer in Antwerpen for Lazer sport.
At the same time creates new graphics, paintings and drawings.
