“My friends, trees”. Painting exhibition by Olha Kvasha. October 23 – November 18, 2018.
After a three-year break devoted to illustrating the books Ukrainian beloved all over the world Olha Kvasha will present her seventh personal exhibition in the “Green Sofa” Art Gallery. Olya’s landscapes are made of light and colors, generously painted with details (not without reason she illustrates children’s books). Each petal, each leaf rustles and smells while appearing from under her brush. At this time the lyrical artist Kvasha paid special attention to the majestic trees, the companions of people on earth. Their connection with the people is powerful and archaic. Olya feels it like this:
“They have been so unrealistic a long time ago when I was born.
And then all the time they were with me.
Some of them became my companion and a teacher, answered my questions,
shared the secrets, someone became a friend. Someone did not have time.
I always wondered how it was before, what kind of world was when they were
seeds. Or the seeds of that seed.
For the protection of the interwoven apple branch I first realized what
the Green Noise Father said.
Most of the good that I have, you taught.
Watch to see, listen to hear. Be thankful for everything.
For the willow kittens.
For the apples and the apricots.
For the flowers of linden.
For the gold plates of the leaves that you cover me for every fall.
For the land from which everything grows.
We have one roots with you.
My friends, trees. “
