Svitlana and Vasyl Yarych. Painting and Sculpture. July 31 – August 26, 2018
One of the most outstanding sculptors and graphic artist in Ukraine Vasyl Yarych with the painter Svitlana Yarych will present an exhibition of their works in the “Green Sofa” gallery.
New wood, stone and bronze sculptures of Vasyl will be presented to the public for the first time. People’s artist of Ukraine is a tireless and active sculptor Vasily Yarych, author of many monuments and memorial complexes throughout Ukraine (known to the people of Lviv as the author of the monument to King Danylo Halytskyy). In creative works as opposed to heroic monuments, Yarych as an artist is interested not in “pathetic” themes: gentle intimate portraits of the mother and the child, naked figures in their natural beauty, philosophical and spiritual themes, in particular forgiveness and reconciliation such as in “The Return of the Prodigal son “.
The themes are eternal, humanistic, classical and understandable. Plastics of Vasyl Yarych’s sculptures is striking with its exquisite nuance, a vibrant harmony of statics and dynamics. And nothing superfluous! This is an example of perfect generalization and stylization.
Just as an example of a perfect generalization is the abstract painting by Svitlana Yarych.
Her paintings grew up from the color graphics that Svitlana had been doing since the 90’s. It is grew up in the literal sense. Her paintings became monumental, parts and stories disappeared. Harmony of color and spots on the plane. Balanced and perfect.
This painting will not bore. To watch this is like to explore reflections of yourself. Every time the other you and the perception will be different.
Among the abstract paintings Svitlana Yarich will present one female portrait with stylistic elements of historicism.
The opening of the exhibition will take place on July 31 at 17.00
