Anna Vasylyeva “Kitch`EN”. 1 – 27 August 2017
The epochs are changing, technologies are moving forward, the world becomes digital and technical, but all this creates a person in its pristine condition. The person who thinks. The person who is changing.
Anna Vasylyeva is a researcher of human souls, a psychologist and an artist from Kyiv. She knows like nobody else that the first sessions of “psychotherapy” each of us gets in the kitchen under the watchful eye of our mother or a friend.
It is not surprising that Anna is keeping the focus of her attention in a person with unique and infinitely complex inner world, placed her in a fluctuating space of post-communist interiors in which the people are living today. They create the future in which we already exist.
However, is not surprising the fact that the characters for their reminiscences she took from the artists of the modern era. The era at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries is a time when the psychology and art so rapidly developed.
Artists of that period also made the object of their attention the state of mind and experience of non-heroic and not mythologized person.
On the same kitchens like ours with an easy hand by Anna Vasylyeva are sit and share with us the intimate characters of the paintings of Lautrec and Picasso, Van Gogh and Modigliani…
The idea of works behind the KitchEN series is to show how blurred the boundaries are between past, present, and future.
Kitch’EN has already been exhibited in the 2014 at the “A-House” Kyiv gallery.
In August of this year part of the exposition with the addition of new works will be presented at the “Green sofa” gallery.
Do not miss the exhibition!
