The Temptation of Saint Antony – a new solo exhibition by Oleksandr Voytovych
The Temptation of Saint Antony – is a mystic title of a new solo exhibition by Oleksandr Voytovych in the Green Sofa Gallery. For the author of the excuisit nu that sings the praise for the sensual side in every stroke Saint Antony symbolises an ordinary man who can be seduced by his nature.
Saint Antony who was an ascet, imprisoned himself in a cave to avoid the sins used to say: “Who in a desert, in his chamber in the depth of the silence is out of reach for the three kinds of temptation: visual, audial and lingual; the only struggle is left for him – the struggle with his own sensuality”.
Oleksandr Voytovych is a very popular Lvivian artist who has recently turned forty so he has reached the peak of his creativity. His “Temptations of Saint Antony” is a really promising exhibition that follows his “Allegory in Heels” which opened the Green Sofa Gallery in 2006.
The exhibition will be on from the 17th of May to the end of month.
