From the 12th of July and to the end of month in the Green Sofa Gallery there will be a solo exhibition by Igor Polishchuk ” The Sky is Above Us”. It was a part of the project under the same title that took place in 2005 in the 8 cities of the USA and Canada.

“The Sky is above us” is a line from the song “Sky” by the famous Kyiv duet of singers the Telniuk Sisters who are the authors and the participants of this cultural initiative. According to them “The Sky is above us”is a drama of music and lyrics in the painting. Project took more than two years, it is a unique performance with the exquisite musical-poetical compositions that can be heard and seen.

Having seen the music and poetry, transforming sounds and texts into the colours and drawings Igor Polishchuk has created visual part of the project. He is young (1974), he used to live in Lviv, graduated Lviv Ivan Trush college and Lviv Art Academy and since 2000 he lives in Canada. Igor Polishchuk is a vice-chairman of Ukrainian Union of artists that exists for more than 50 years but he still takes part in numerous exhibitions.
