Oleksiy Koval “Worlds. Obsessions. Travels». The enamels. 17 March – 5 April 2015

Look  around.

On this exhibition I would like to present works from several series.

India. Portraits. 11 works made in 2008-2013

The idea came to me after a wonderful trip around India. I used ethnic motifs and ornaments, fragments of landscapes of India provinces, all the works are oval – in the form of an eye.

Arabian nights. 12 works. 2010-2014

I was inspired by arabian fairy tales, trips around Arabian countries, their air, art and music. The main forms of these works are circle and oval.

Dolls.20 works. 2013 till now. Different dolls like Angel-Demon, Warrior – Guard and Collectioner were initially inspired by The Gifts of the Magi and Christmas and soon became a separate series of works. Materials – silver, bronze, precious stones.

Frame. Women. Retro. Portrait.

The idea of this series was with me since 2005, At first i wanted to use my collection of old postcards and photographs as well as beautiful frames. This is the most subtle series and it includes around 30 portraits.
