“ARDEKOKH” part 2.Youriy Kokh project. 2 -21 of September 2014

The new exhibition “ARDEKOH” in “Green Sofa” is a continuation of the same painting cycle that Yury Koch first presented in September 2013. Since then some works have been in two personal exhibitions in Kyiv – “Body Town. The body of the city” and in “Drohobych – Territory of Bruno Schulz. ” Today the project “ARDEKOH” has turned into a long-term or -according to the author – in an infinitely project, which Kokh can`t stop… ” In any case, it is not an imitation of the last of the great styles of the twentieth century, but only artistic flirting with that style, diving and coming up with a system of ARDEKO coordinates sometimes outright irony with its formal borders, and that is in all honestly – its intellectual boundaries. .. However, the most powerful motivation of this theme is the need for the artist to finish something that lacked imagination and time 30 years before the Second World War and to finalize as if there was no war.And to finish the style, without which it is not possible to imagine Lviv. The exhibition, which runs until September 22, contains new portrayed characters from Kokh famous “Hutsul” series, including paintings – “Gutsulka with Absinthe” (the first in the history of art), “Emancipated woman” and “Girl with a tattoo”, “Sisters “(mulatto in Ukrainian costumes),” Brothers “(Stepan Bandera with Antonio Banderas), « EMI GRACIA », some of the new series” Mannequins “and some street scenes, inspired by diverse factors of ARDEKO era.
